This beloved pizza restaurant specializes in crafting unforgettable pies that boast a unique blend of East Coast flair with a touch of Neapolitan inspiration. The aroma of freshly baked dough fills the air, instantly transporting you to a cozy pizzeria, where the crunch of the perfect crust awaits.

As you peruse their menu, let yourself be tempted by the Caesar Salad, featuring crisp whole-leaf romaine tossed with house-made dressing—bold flavors that come from using raw, unpasteurized eggs to create a rich, velvety coating. For those craving something heartier, the Pesto Calzone is a must-try, loaded with creamy ricotta and a medley of cheeses, expertly balanced with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, creating an explosion of flavor with every bite.

The star of the show, of course, is the pizza. With a variety of choices—from the classic Margherita to the adventurous Bacon Bianca—each pizza features a delectably light and crispy crust, meticulously crafted to achieve that coveted chewiness and char. Locals rave about the delightful balance of toppings that never overwhelm the palate, making every slice a true work of art. Just a friendly reminder, though—be prepared for a potential wait, as Miyabi found out by arriving early to secure the best seats in the house!

Great place. There are 2 sides to eat in. We dined there. I love thin crust, and they got it right! Crispy crust and soft in the middle. They have a nice selection of pizza to select from. You can pick your order up also. Friendly staff, good vibes.

Pizza was great, we ordered half mushroom and half spicy sopresatta and enjoyed both. Ordered a side of hot honey which went well with the mushroom pizza! Calzone we ordered with the pizza didnt come out until we finished the pizza, we were told they burnt it and were making a new one so we waited for a while and then a bit more. Other than that the overall experience was good and i'd like to take out their pizza next time.

Amazing food. Just a really light, incredibly crispy crust with a perfect amount of toppings. Not greasy, just perfectly balanced toppings. Everything from the Caesar salad to the margherita and Paulie Gee was amazing. We did exercise some restraint. Photos are of the pizzas with the undercarriage—as they say they are well done. Loved every bit of it. And for an out-of-towner with roots in California, the It’s-It’s were a total treat.

This is everything I've ever imagined a great pizza to be. Crisp but chewy crust and undercarriage. Right amount of char on the crust. Texture, ingredient ratio, and balance of flavors - all on point. The sauce, also perfectly balanced and flavorful, ties it all together. The play here is to get a half red sauce and half no sauce pizza. The Bacon Bianca is an explosion of garlic, salt, and fat, and peppery perfection and gets ordered every time. The real question is which pizza to pair with it. As good as the pizza is, and the competition is fierce in Portland these days, the Caesar salad truly sets this place apart. Wow, this is a top tier salad that's worth the trip alone. Get the side of anchovies, although you really don't need them. Whole leaf romaine and handsome amounts of parmesiano reggiano, and a house caesar dressing that brings a bold swift kick to the pallette. It's a death row salad. Thoughtful consideration has gone into every aspect of the food and quality. You can taste the love. While it is just pizza, it's obvious that they love food and are serious about their craft. Even the wine selection has been carefully considered to pair with the different pizzas. Other pizza places in Portland may get all the press, but Apizza Scholls gets 100 percent of my love.

I am a huge pizza lover; this is hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. From my first visit to every time since it’s always been fantastic. The crust, the cheese, sauce it’s one of the best pizzas in the US. Recently I was there they messed up my order just remade it gave me the other pizza. They are stand outs in terms of their pizza and customer service. Be aware they don’t do reservations it’s first come first serve for tables usually a line when they open. Definitely frequent this spot for some epic pizza!!

Arrived fifteen minutes before they opened. There was already a line, but we secured ourselves a spot for the first “wave” of customers to roll in. At 5:00, they started letting people in, and we were seated quickly. Water was already set at the table, along with cups and utensils. We ordered a Caesar salad, a New York White, and a half plain pie and half Apizza Margherita. The food was delicious. Salad was crisp with perfect croutons. Both pizzas were ordered were great, the New York White and the half and half. Service was awesome, too.

We got the Apizza Margherita and it was absolutely excellent. It has to be one of the best pizzas available on the West Coast. The style is quite unique, almost like a cross between NY-style and Neapolitan. It is a very hearty and aromatic pizza, blending several kinds of cheeses. Their house salad and draft beers were also top-notch as was their service. This review is coming from a NY-er with high standards for pizza that I’m generally left disappointed about outside the Northeast. As we arrived for a Friday evening meal, we were prepared to wait a long time at a pizza joint as esteemed as this one, and indeed we had to. First, there was a ~10 minute wait on a small line to make our table reservation. I think we were quoted 1hr 15min wait for a table but about 30 minutes into our wait, I asked the lady upfront (who was impressively taking all of the reservations while seeming to manage a good number of other operations throughout the restaurant), if we could change to a take-out order at which point she informed me we’d probably be seated in about 15 minutes from then, so we decided to continue waiting and I’m glad we did. Exceptional pizza like theirs should be enjoyed straight out of the oven, and not compromised by being left sitting in a box. When it comes to pizza reviews, it can sometimes be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, because many patrons simply don’t have high standards for pizza, so they are often satisfied or even impressed with mediocre and sometimes downright awful pizza. You may rest assured, by my word as an impossibly fussy NY-er who knows the difference, that this place is the real deal!
